There are several competing and in some cases cooperating authentication mechanisms, with varying degrees of industry adoption. Dave Crocker will provide an update on the current status of email authentication efforts, with special reference to DKIM (which combines Yahoo's DomainKeys and Cisco's Identified Internet Mail mechanisms).
